A big restructuring
SFR becomes the owner of Altice Media. The new structure will now be three entities: SFR Telecom, SFR SFR Media and Advertising. SFR will therefore acquire the media owned by Patrick Drahi, at a cost of 600 million euros and redeem 49% of NextRadioTV (BFM-TV, RMC, 01net. Com particular) and Altice Media Group France (Libération, L Express, Strategies, or i24 News).
SFR and the Press
At the press conference the day, SFR also announced the launch of SFR Press application, to view all the content published by the media from Altice Media Group. This application is available on all mobile devices (Android, iOS), tablet and PC / Mac. Note that the non-SFR customers will also benefit for 19.99 euros per month.
SFR and Sport
With Euro 2016 which strongly approach, SFR also placed on the sport. Witness the launch in the coming weeks with a bouquet of 5 channels entirely dedicated to sport: SFR Sport 1, Sport 2, Sport 3, Sport 4K (4K content), and Sport 5. SFR and News
In addition to launching sports channels, the group launched two new channels. There first BFMTV Sport, from June 7 before Euro 2016 and BFMTV Paris in October.
Positioning BFMTV Sport is a bit special because it will support the RMC Sport agency, including 70 journalists and thirty consultants. Some events broadcast on SFR Sport channels will sometimes also find on BFM Sport, as some English games for example.
As for BFMTV Paris, it will be a very local news channel. The group said it will follow the Parisian news closely with fifteen journalists permanently stationed with scooters in Paris and a helicopter to film the traffic.
